I just got the e-mail a few minutes ago (10:09PM PDT) as well.
Cool of Google to throw that out there. I was second guessing myself with the pre-order, thinking maybe Google would make better deals down the road. They could still, but the $50 is sweet.

I'll probably use it for the wireless charger if I'm allowed.

I know I should have waited to get the wireless charger especially when I already had plenty lying in home. I'll probably get a home hub or something when it gets discounted during holidays and I'll add this coupon to further reduce the price.

Yeah I have mostly Samsung wireless charger which will work but another one won't hurt

I also just received this email. I double checked, and there's no place to opt-in when placing the order that I saw. This might have been that informational thing that you got a few weeks earlier about keeping you informed of latest releases.

Happy to wake up to this email this morning and happy I didn't order the stand yet.
I actually had decided that I didn't need the stand as it's expensive and I have a rapid charger plugged in at various locations in my house, including by my bed and where I sit in my family room. I also have one in my office and, of course, in my car. I have no problem actually plugging my phone in so the stand was kind of unnecessary.
But, for $30, after the $50 promotional balance, I might be swayed. Lmao!
After watching a youtube review, it might be great to have one on my night stand.
