You'd think that by now, solely based on what you just said, that people would have started to figure out that "Pre-Order" has become a way for these companies to make a LOT of money so they can offer these other deals a few months later!!!

Pre-order is also good for Samsung to estimate how many devices they need available on launch day.

Other Samsung phones had preorders within 24 hours after the announcement. If they're wanting to get then out before the iPhone announcement, which is usually right after the US holiday Labor Day, Samsung needs to act quickly.

So preorders could be the 24th, release day maybe a week later on the 31st or maybe September 1. That gives them about a week of sales and hype before the iPhone announcement.

I could see 9/1 happening for 2 reasons. The iPhone release date and the Labor day holiday the following week. I don't think they want to start shipping on a holiday. 9/15 is still a possibility as well since isn't it only the iPhone 7s releasing in September? Not a huge competition there. I think they're competing more with the iPhone 8.

Are they trying to copy Samsung with 3 flagship phones in a year?

If so, I wonder if the 8 will have a pencil like the Note 8 Spen?

If the 8 had a pencil, I think news would have broke by now. So, no or , but still more money than the Note8.

Now that it's being mentioned, it's kind of odd they didn't make the full design change for the whole line. I'm sure component availability had something to do with it.

Well last year the Note 7 wasn't available to pre-order that day/night. There was a gap of time from Aug 2, and then the phone didn't come until the 19th. I hope that isn't the case this go round.

I mean, I'm down either way. Samsung knows they have me hooked for the long haul. LoL

Me too but I'll have to jump my S8+ to get the Note 8. I really like the S8+ but my heart belongs to the Notes but that could change if they go taller and not wider.

I wasn't able to get a S8, but that's cool because I only ever wanted a note. At this point though, a flip phone would be better than my S7 Edge.
