Pre order **MAY BEGIN** arriving on May 18th?!?

So, my question is what is the advantage of pre-ordering? We get the opportunity to give Sprint our money two or more weeks before everyone else and possibly get our phones after people who walk into the store on the release date?

This makes no sense. If they are going to have phones in the stores and retail outlets on 5/18, why is it they cannot ship pre-orders until the 18th?

I pre ordered mine through Best Buy just a little bit ago and talked to a rep on the phone who told me to disregard their expected delivery dates and that they wouldn't be able to ship it until the release date. Although, yesterday when i talked to a rep about the pre order and asked them if they were actually allowed to ship the phones before sprints release date, they stated that they'd be shipped as soon as they receive them. Still not sure what to believe :/ Anyone else have any info from/about best buy pre orders and shipments?

I know with the Galaxy Nexus that the people that pre-ordered got their phones on the Firday before the release. I'm sure that the message on the order status is either a mistake or it's just not worded correctly.

I wouldn't sweat it. I remember the same type of thing happening on 3d preorders and I didn't even have a tracking number until the day it was delivered....which was a day or two before national release.

I'm keeping the faith it is at my door on the 17th.

You should all most likely call and cancel your preorders...A couple less orders to process so they can get mine out faster 3 days prior to the release date. Haha

YES, everyone CANCEL NOW, not going to ship until July if you order through Sprint!!!! Hehe

I've talked to two Sprint reps. One swears I will receive the phone within 24 - 48 hours and the other says that it will be shipped on 5/18. LOL.

The lady who said it won't be shipped until 5/18 asked me "How can Sprint ship a phone that it does not yet have? The shipping date will be 5/18 and you will receive the phone 1 - 3 days afterwards."

I responded and asked her if release date meant available in stores and retail outlets. She said yes. I then asked, so if all the Sprint stores and retail outlets around the country will have the device on their shelves on the morning of 5/18, wouldn't they have to be shipped to them *prior* to 5/18, at the very latest on 5/16 so that they would arrive on 5/17 so they would available on 5/18? She said yes, of course. I then asked if Sprint can ship phones that have not been paid for to stores and retail outlets on 5/16, why can't they ship the phones that have already been paid for by its customers? She then just went back to the line "shipped on 5/18".

LOL, yes please do!

A funny thing happened on the way to this, in the one chat session the rep said "Sprint doesn't promise that pre-orders will arrive before release date". Yet I just looked again at their pre-order advertising and it says "...get it before others get a glimpse." That definitely means will arrive before release date to me.

Just called and the rep told me that it will be shipped to my house on the day it arrives at the Sprint warehouse from HTC and I would get it before if not the 18th but he said more than likely before. :)

Thanks for pre-ordering. You are one step closer to getting your phone. Keep an eye out for a shipping email with your tracking information. Delivery is expected to complete within 1 to 3 business days starting May 18th. For questions, visit sprint.com/preorder.

the "Delivery is expected to complete within 1 to 3 business days starting May 18th" still doesn't make sense.

Shouldn't it be "Delivery is expected to complete within 1 to 3 business days AFTER May 18th", or "...BEFORE...", or "Shipping is expected to begin within 1 to 3 business days starting May 18th"?

I really wish they wouldn't offshore the status message writing to someone whose first language is not English.

Just spoke to a rep who said the order they made will not cover all preorders, seems the 1-3 days AFTER the 18th is right :-(

Maybe not for some, but would cover those that don't get it till after the 18th

Their loss, they should hold shipments to Sprint stores and retail outlets in order to provide devices to those of us who PREPAID for our devices.

If this is true, they should have put a limit on the number of pre-orders accepted and once that limit was reached they should have given people a "you're too late" message.
