Pre-order process

I've always purchased my phones through my carrier. What's the typical pre-order process like? Can I change my mind and cancel a pre-order a few days later after seeing some hands on reviews? Or if I order it I'm getting it? Mainly I'm concerned I'll change my mind after seeing reviews or finding out more details about the HTC11+ or something. Thanks!

The process is just like ordering from your carrier. You put your pre-order in. If you cancel before it ships you're good.

I had to Google HTC U11 Plus as I hadn't heard of it till now. Could be exciting!
