I can't figure out how to put the buttons and other fields in precise locations in App Inventor. They always move to the left side. How can a button or other field be placed precisely using App Inventor?

Try using the horizontal and/or vertical arrangement layouts. Or you could try the table. There's also an allignment property for the layout elements. Pop open the documentation and it'll list all the elements with their properties. I use the different layouts with each other to place my ui elements.

Ok, thanks for the quick response. I've tried tables and the horizontal/vertical "block" functionality. Here's my situation (is something wrong with what I'm doing?):
1. I am not using Eclipse - only App Inventor
2. I cannot seem to get the buttons to have the rounded-rectangle edges and I can't get them to stay separated after the first button click. That is, they show up separate and rounded-rect right at the beginning, but change to rectangles with no spacing after the first click.
3. Where do properties get edited in App Inventor? Where is "documentation" in App Inventor?

Thanks, again.

Ok, so I made the Learn link work and found the documentation. So now I just want to know how to place objects in specific locations on the screen. Are there any other features or methods for buttons, labels, text fields, etc that are not included in App Inventor? Maybe using advanced methods?

As far as I know you cannot place elements based on X,Y coordinates. You'll have to use the layout elements. I've created a calculator app and have placed the grid of buttons using the table layout they've maintained their spacing, so not sure why yours looses the spacing. Would have to have more information.
