Gnex: RGB led notifications. I've seen these in person and holy cow they look cool. You can choose a bunch of colors. I'm so excited about getting this phone for this feature alone. Plus my nexus s is slow as molasses.

can you customize those at all without any app or do you need something like Lightflow?

Ha. I've got 2 girls ages 4 and 1. On twitter it's just 6 of us guys from high school who follow each other and each other only. We post pics all the time on there. Funny stuff we come across. We've all been friends for 25+ years. I have a twin brother who has 3 kids, etc....

At the end of the year I always put together a video with all the pics.

good times

oh i see that's cool. i don't have any kids so i rarely take pics. just a few of my girl or my buddies at the bar, beach, party, etc. every once in a while. i do notice that my girl's iPhone 4 camera puts my EVO 4G camera to shame. pictures taken on her phone look so much warmer, crisper and just overall better.

why do i feel like there are only about 6 of us on this entire site of many thousands that give a shiit about this phone? i guess because there are only about 6 of us posting here!

AFAIK you have to use lightflow, I think CM9 lets you do it also, not too sure about that one though.

Also wanted to add that the Gnex has software buttons and not hardware ones. I own a Galaxy Tab and a nexus and I love love love the software buttons, they're soo much nicer to press.

Oh and something real . My Sprint guy promised to let me take a bunch of pictures as soon as the Nexus comes in the store. #blurrycam

Sent from the greatest HTC EVO 4G ever made!!!

There are always "lurkers" who read and research, but never post.
It will be a good seller for Sprint, IMO.

Unless I win one, I will be buying one when it finally arrives.

Hope to get an announcement this weekend or early next week.

DataStorm winners will be drawn on or about the 16th, so...

G-Nex or EVO LTE - what are the reasons for your decision?

Still waiting to have the GSIII specs leaked, but currently the EVO and Nexus are looking about equal.

Reasons to get Evo:
1) Sd card
2) quad core processor
3) Sense

Reasons to get Nexus:
1) Removable battery

EDIT: The removable battery is pretty much equal to all three of those in weight. There are other reasons one phone might be better or worse then the other, but I don't really care about things like camera so I didn't bother listing them.

why is Sense a positive? what does it do for you? i see only negatives - resource hog, bloat, delayed updates, and obfuscation and bastardization of ICS.

I don't post often, but I'm also looking forward to the GNexus. It seems like a solid phone. I know everyone is fawning over the HTC Evo LTE, but I'm still excited for the GNexus... especially if it's released at $99 or something. :)

The Evo will have a Snapdragon dual-core S4 chip, not the Tegra 3 Quadcore. But I see that as a plus not a minus considering how awesome the s4 is.

You see Sense as a positive? I know the camera app is awesome but other things like menu bar on older apps would drive me crazy.

Welcome to the party man!! I'm hoping for 199.99 for the price, not 249.99 like Verizon is charging.

I was ready for this phone but damn HTC may have changed my mind yesterday. I really like how CM9 runs and I'm assuming the Nexus is very similar.

I am hoping for $199.99 also.
As the new HTC will be at that price, I would be surprised if the GN was more.

Sweet. Let us know when you get those. :)

I've been lurking since the advertisement was leaked; not sure if I've ever posted anything.

I'm still getting the Nexus.
  • I want to be in front when it comes to trying out Jelly Bean ROMs. My poor EVO Shift doesn't get any attention compared to the slightly newer Nexus S 4G. I'm not sure if it will turn out that way when it comes to GNexus vs EVO LTE though.
  • I'm pretty sure the "worse" camera doesn't bother me since I use my phone camera only for pictures that I don't care about. DSLR is ready for everything else.
  • I also want a removable battery because I need to do 20-25 hours of heavy use sometimes. A portable charger would work too, but it's not nearly as pocketable.
  • I'd like a SD slot, but I'll live. I came from the Palm Pre..
  • The slower processor will be more than fast enough for me. I keep my phone light.
  • HD voice would be nice to play with, but I don't even talk on my phone ;)

TLDR:
Nexus: updates, Sense-less, removable battery
EVO: SLCD2, SD slot, faster processor, better camera

IMO the EVO would be better for the general public but the Nexus is better for me.

If I win DataStorm, I might just use the upgrade on the EVO and get both :p

agreed. i want virtual buttons. WTF with the fixed buttons? this is 2012. virtual buttons are the future.

I'm starting to move away from the Galaxy Nexus camp. I guess if I win that contest I'll be happy GNexus owner, other than that they are going to have to offer it really cheap for me to justify buying it for near the same price I can get the new Evo.

I'm still set on getting a Galaxy Nexus. I just wish they would give us the release date already! Maybe next week?

so the Sprint Nexus S 4G ICS OTA Update is Official. i hope this means that the G-Nex will be released soon. this wait is starting to get ridiculous. no announcement, no nothing.

it's friggin April 6 already. do you want my business or not? do you want to stay in business or not?
