Hi all,

I have been searching but am unable to find a definitive answer. I recently got a Galaxy Note 4, and it came with Soda crush, uber, wallgreens, and other apps. Some give me the option to uninstall, others dont. My question is, if I uninstalled the ones that will let me, will there be any adverse effects? I read that the updater checks some applications to see if I have a normal image. (im not rooted). Will I be able to update, when it's time, if I remove the apps that allow an uninstall?

Yup, those apps that you can uninstall are not deemed 'system critical' and you can get rid of without problems. The root and check is done before the OS loads, so no worries there, you'll still be able to update your phone when such a thing becomes available.

Thanks! So the ones that only allow "uninstall updates" or disable, are the critical ones, and to remove those I'd need root anyway, right?

Correct. Some of them are not even that critical to the system, but the carrier decided that you just can't uninstall them, but yeah. Those you can't uninstall, you'd need root to get rid of.
