I just noticed that I have a bunch of content in Books, Movies, Music, and Magazines. Is this standard for all Android devices?

Varies from manufacturer to manufacturer. Google gives a few pieces of content on (recent, at least) Nexus devices to offer a sample of what is available from the Play store.
