I just noticed this new offer they have online. What are your thoughts about this? You have to lease the phone though for $24 months. I was orginally going to do a new 2 year agreement which I feel is cheaper in the long run, then I saw this today. Not sure how long this offer has been available, but wasn't there a few days ago...

I'm not totally sure what deal you're seeing. When I go, it says if you sign up for the $80/mo plan, they'll credit you $20 back toward the rental of the phone. My only caution is after 2 years, you don't own the phone, so if you upgrade, you have to give the phone back instead of getting to keep it as a backup or anything.

"After 24 mos., customer can continue to pay monthly lease amount, purchase or return the device."

ok so looking into it.. sprint leasing is exactly like a car lease;

#1 you are required to pay the lease the duration of the lease contract. They have 12,24, and 30 month terms available. Terminating the contract requires paying a termination fee.

#2 at no point do you own the phone, this plan is ideal for those who wan't to easily upgrade without pretty much any cost. Currently there is an iphone for life lease plan that allows you to swap out the phone every time a new version is reelased. However again you don't ever own the phone.

#3 there is a heavily discounted price you can pay at the end of the lease to purchase the phone.
