Press and hold on home screen to add a widget isn't working.

I've recieved my new p30 Pro running android 10 but when I press and hold on the home screen to add a widget nothing happens? Any ideas?

You have enough space on the home screen to fit that widget? Do you have home screen locked?

Welcome to the forums. Go to settings - Home screen & Wallpaper - Home screen settings and make sure that Lock Layout is switched off.

Welcome to the forums.

Have you tried pressing and holding the home button? That in theory should bring up Google Assistant, but the OEM could have overridden that.
