Some of the ER's I work in have good reception and I'll turn if off when I can since the hospital wifi seems to get worse and worse, but some of them are kind of buried so I have to leave it on.That is adaptive battery at work for you. Also turning off WiFi help my battery a lot also.
As long as you are connected it's fine.
