is there an option to prevent grid snapping? I want to drag a widget to a certain spot but it keeps snapping to grid and it's really annoying

I don't think so - you can use LPP or ADW to control (add) the number of rows and columns - which may help - however my experience has been that doing so makes my widgets funky.

I use ADW EX and increased the screen size to 4 Column and 5 Rows and it helps with this issue for me but like reported that if you go to high on the numbers it can throw the icons off but you can resize the images to correct in most cases.

LLP allows you to overlay icons and widgets which make placing icon in a curtain area easier without issues but lately LLP has developed a FC and rebooting issues.

So ADW is you best chance to get this to work..

I've been using LP Plus for a loooong time and I haven't had problems with force closing. LPP works so very well that going back to the stock launcher seems like going back to a flip phone.... well, almost.

BTW, if LPP force closing is an issue, un-check auto update for your dl apps in the Market. Background auto-updates will cause lots of FCs and can even brick your X.

You are a lucky one to not have LLP cause any issues because almost every forum I have read has had users reporting this and I noticed this issue on my personal device, and as for the issue with the auto update setting, this is the first I heard of it bricking a device, are you speaking of causing device to freeze up or are you saying the device will become unusable that only a SBF will fix? I only ask because so many times I have read that a device was bricked but it was just freezing or not able to complete boot. These are recoverable and I dont consider it as bricked...
