my upgrade is up in January, and I really would love to get this phone, but I don't like the $300 price tag, do you guys think there is any hope that it could be down to $200 on contract by then?

Probably not but maybe an after Xmas sale. I'm not sure if they would do the RAZR HD or both

Really depends on how well the phone is selling. If it's still selling at a brisk pace, there's no reason to discount the price. But if sales start to drop off, they will lower the price to stimulate sales.

good luck. Maybe you'll get some Christmas money. :)

Highly doubtful, at least from Verizon. You may see a better deal through Bestbuy or Costco online or some other similar major seller online around the turn of the year. I wouldn't wait to see a drop on Vzw though.

3rd-party sellers like Amazon, Costco, BestBuy and others will no doubt discount it to $199 or less in a couple of months. :)

Hmmm don't think it'll drop that much. Maybe $50 less.

Wirefly has the maxx hd for 199 and the reg hd for 149 on contract right now

Like most authorized retailers do easy year, price will be less than Verizon direct by thanksgiving.

The original MAXX stayed at $299 for a long time. Might go lower as part of a Holiday promo but otherwise I doubt it'll be $199 for at least 6 months.I think the first MAXX was a corporate-only offered device for quite a while as well so that kept the price high.

I'm sorry but didn't you see the previous post? It's already 199 on Wirefly . . or am I missing something?

Ya, I looked on wirefly and it is already $199.99, so I will be getting that as soon as I can hopefully, because I really want to ditch this Nexus.

Sorry, I was replying to the guy above me who was saying it would be 299 for 6 months after I already posted it was 199

Keep in mind wirefly has stipulations for that price, so if you don't plan on keeping it for a while you'll want to avoid them.

yeah, it'll always be cheaper at indirect locations, but remember with the original Maxx, it lasted at $300 for 6 months, went on promo, then went back up again
