for 3 months we've asked for the world from this phone, and IMO it's come pretty close to delivering. maybe it's of here and there, and some things may be bigger deal breakers than others.

but some of these requests regarding price are absolutely ridiculous. the nexus 4 and nexus 5 were great deals, but to expect that on the 6p is unrealistic IMO.

I read one comment that actually stated he won't even read these posts because the black bar doesn't "house something special." you can't make that up!!

for 3 months we've had great conversation, and all of a sudden some people have lost their sense of reality.

I find that 90% of discussions regarding an upcoming device are purely sound and fury, signifying nothing.;) Nothing really matters until the phone is actually in the wild, and we all can see how it works in the real world.

Because the Nexus attracted the budget market, as they were cheap, like the original Nexus 5 for example.

So the current following, is budget phone people. People who have always looked for a bargain and refused to pay for a high end flagship.

So people haven't figured out there is now 2 Nexus. One flagship and one budget.

They probably aren't very intelligent either... bless them

lol ... that's so true!

Im starting to think most people on here aren't looking to buy a phone. They nitpick to find something to dislike so they can justify to keep waiting until the next year. And the cycle keeps going until their phone dies and they are forced to buy something.

totally agree ... the "house something special" comment got me, lol ... that's seriously hysterical. I wonder if they can fit a leprechaun in there!!

and if people were truly serious about getting a phone, and price was a consideration, they'd have already have had jumped on that $350 Nexus 6 deal. instead they'll reference the "hump" which isn't really a hump, the price, or if course the 810.

admittedly I had a knee jerk reaction to the initial benchmarks, which I quickly retracted. the truth is, if you compare this phone to every single one that's been released in 2015, it's as good as it gets. IMO, and I'm assuming the rumors are accurate and it'll run just as smooth add every other Nexus, it's the best phone ever made. I'm tired of TW though and certainly Samsung fans have a fair argument if they want to put the Note 5 and Edge+ in that conversation.

It was Google's choice to venture into the high-end market, even though we all know Nexus market share is quite low. The point is, now that they have, people tend to complain. They tried their hand last year, and reaction to the Nexus 6 was a mixed bag. This year, they make two phones to cater to both ends of the spectrum, and people still complain. The mobile market changed, and Google and everyone else had to change along with it.

There are always compromises that have to be made, especially if you're on a budget. One can't ask for the moon in terms of a smartphone, and not expect to pay up. So, either you learn to adapt to the changing landscape, and pay top dollar for quality, or you compromise in areas. There's no having it both ways anymore, unfortunately.

I'm probably guilty of this for 2015... UNTIL NOW!!!

My nitpick is that it's too big, but I'm going to live with it for the sake of supporting these specs, hoping others will follow and a message is sent to other OEM's

This will be my first Nexus since the Google G1 hehehe

I wasn't that interested in the Nexus 6 last year, but people definitely got carried away with the reaction to the price. My only complaint about it was that the specs did not match the price. But the Nexus 4 and 5 were the only models Google ever sold to be considered affordable. All of the 3 previous phones originally sold for over $500 off contract, so I get confused when people talk about the "intent of the Nexus line" or whatever.

That said, I'm hoping that the 6P will be a little cheaper than the 6, but if it's the same price, that would be somewhat okay with me since the specs are better. If the 5X starts at $399, I would be so glad for the 6P to start at $549 or $599. Google would lose a lot of money, but it would sure sell a lot of phones. $649 for 32 GB is just a little high because I'm always gonna be looking at the 64 GB one.

One thing to consider is marketing. Samsung spent $14 billion in marketing last year, and Apple probably wasn't that far behind.

$649 for 32GB would suggest $699 for 64GB and $799 for the 128GB.

Google won't have those same expenses, and at least in the US, that's a steep price for a brand in Hauwei that many people have never heard of before.

Whether or not I think it's a fair price, or if I get one (I will) is irrelevant. If Google thinks they're going to sell Hauwei phones at iPhone pricing, they're wrong.

It'll be very interesting to see where they price it. I imagine it won't be too far if from your estimate though.

I don't see the Hauwei device being a bargain. It has premium device all over its design and that usually comes with a very premium price tag. I'm also dubious on the camera, the nexus phones have always been lacking in that regard.

I think they are looking to scratch two itches. The LG bargain device and the Hauwei premium. WIll people pay? For me, if its not a deal I can't refuse I'm going to stick with my Moto Pure. I'm not interested in the smaller, cheaper device and I'm not going to pay $750 plus tax for a smart phone. We'll see what the pricing is soon enough.
