Prl 00001 does not go into roam?

Hi everyone i just flashed a sprint prl#00001 and it does not improve my signal as i get 0-1 bars in my hometown so i thought this prl would make me roam as verizon has excellent service here but it stays the same but i get really good data speeds. Any reason why this might be happening? Any help would be appreciated thanks

scratch that i loaded a verizon prl 52644 and now im roaming but i get a signal with fantastic 3g speeds. probably get booted after a couple of movies thou
