I know a lot of people have been using the Airplane Mode bandaid to help with the TWS bug. It resets the radio and gets rid of the high TWS, but also makes the GPS unable to pick up your location for some reason. There is also the PRL fix, which when you update it also resets the radio.
My GPS is generally very accurate, and I forgot that I had tried using Airplane Mode when I rebooted yesterday. Today I was heading out to do some errands and I could not get the GPS to lock on me. I tried the GPS Test and it said it had 10 birds in view, but none in use. It finally dawned on my that I had used Airplane Mode... I went into settings, updated the PRL and the GPS picked me up in seconds. My TWS is also only at 2% three hours later.
For some reason, when you use the Airplane mode fix it disables the gps BUT when you update the PRL it makes everything work. I don't know why this would be, they're basically doing the exact same thing. I tried replicate this by rebooting and then going into airplane mode, testing the GPS, and then doing the same thing after hitting "update PRL". It worked for me each time.
Those of you having problems with your GPS not picking you up, and the people with the TWS problem try doing a PRL update. It's in settings, check for updates, and then PRL.
