PRL Swap for the V on VM (latest PRL for Sprint Towers).

Ok, I am certainly NOT computer illiterate, but a lot doesn't make any sense here. When I go to device manager I don't get a list of connected devices. Apparently you all aren't using XP. This wasn't made to use with XP I guess. I was able to get all the necessary codes, etc. for my phone, but I guess windows 7 has to be used for the rest. I give up.

Nevermind. Finally got it. Just being difficult as usual for an old machine.

Not a huge change here. still a poor connection no matter the .prl I use. I'm not in a great reception area at home. A work there are 5 towers less than a mile away. Using 60680.

True. I got 3g at the house better than before. I can llink up to my tablet and have halfway decent internet access at the house.

60680 seemed to actually make my reception worse, while 61677 seems to have improved my 3g speeds. now my 3g ranges from 200-400 kbps, when it used to be around 100-200 kbps at home (hacienda heights, ca). 3g has been as high as 700 kbps in long beach on stock prl, but with 61677 it gave me up to 1 mbps. this was definitely some kind of mistake, but check out the results of this speed test that was done in long beach, ca:

if only the 3g was really that high!
...sigh...

Are there any negative effects to changing the PRL?

I've noticed that my signal fluctuates more than before, tws is about the same as before. 3G is faster at home, no change in speed at work. Battery life is good, so I figure it may be a change for the better.

MSL link isn't working. When I view the source of the page now, all I'm getting is 1234567890 repeated.

I tried all the diffrent PRLs and i defenitely saw a diffrence in speed in 3G. I was able to use the hotspot capability without any speed problems, but for some reason, when I used the PRLs, my SMS didn't go through. insted of sneding the message, I just gor "Message Not Sent, Erro Code 97" and I couldnt find any way of fixing it, so I just went back to the stock PRL :o

I think too that it may also have a little to do with where you live. In Florida some Prl's are terrible. The one I stuck with its great.

so which is the best prl so far? i just switched from stock to 60680 and was just wondering which prl offers the most relible 3g?

60680 was the fastest one I tested out of all of them. The biggest pain is to try them all, but you may want to depending on where you live.

I just switched to 60680 from 11115. I'm seeing a slight increase in 3G speed (~100 kbps).

I remember when I used to be able to get ~1 Mbps with VM. Then everyone else got the Optimus.

Has anyone had problems with sending and recieving sms with 60680 prl. I want to try it out. The latest one 01101 (something like that) would have too many problems witj sms. I would send a text and it would be recieved like 30 mins later. Switched back to stock prl and no more problems.

I have this exact problem with every PRL thats not 01120. Except its the other way around, I get their texts late.

Yea me too. But ive only tried 01120 and get both problems with recieving text all late or others recieving my texts late. 60680 sounds like the best with getting better signal but I wont take it if has this problem.
