Hi everyone, I have been having a problem charging after I did the last firmware update. The phone I have is from Verizon it's the Samsung Galaxy S8+ black.
The phone does not charge when it's off. But when the phone is on it charges just fine.

I was wondering if anyone else is also have the same problem.

Re: Problem charging

I should also add that when I was driving it was plugged in and charging. When I did a stop for food and unplugged my phone it was fine. When I went back to charging the phone. I was getting the phone has moisture in the charge port. The phone is in a lifeproof case. And the phone is completely dry. I was unable to charge on or off. I had to use my wireless charger to charge it.

Re: Problem charging

Did the cord get wet? Take a hair dryer to the cord and the port. Clear cache on phone since the update and restart and retry.

I would say this. It looks like the phone is saying water is by the charging port so it won't charge.

My thoughts too. But he said it was dry and in a life proof. I have had issues with a cord needing to be unplugged and plugged back in before because I got the message cord not properly attached

I did the wipe cache and I am still getting this problem. I called Verizon and they say it's the firmware that is doing this. I also called Samsung and they will replace the phone. The thing with them is I will not have a phone for a week.

Forget drying the port. It was never damp. I had the same issue about six weeks ago. For three days every time I plugged the charger in, it was telling me there was moisture detected in the port. Very frustrating since I like you had my phone sealed in a case and it was never exposed to even high humidity. Tried a different Samsung charger for the 8, and got the same results. Stopped into Verizon store and the guy there said his did it too. The problem went away as quickly as it showed up. They said it was a software glitch. No problems after that until yesterday. New update installed, heavy battery drain, phone overheating, flashing lock screen. Getting ready to ditch Samsung.

The only reason I went to Samsung was my LG V10 got wet and no longer worked. So I paid that phone off and got the S8+. I don't like the fact there is no removal battery.
