The S3 creates video in the MP4 format, which I've transferred to my PC.

I converted one video file to .avi using MP4Cam2AVI_v2.99. However, unlike non-converted .avi files, the converted file can not be opened with my basic video editing program, nor does it upload to Picasa Web Albums.

This file is important and I need to be able to upload it online to share with another person.

Any suggestions? Thank you!

MP4 is a pretty common format - is there some reason you can't share the original format instead of having to convert it?
You could try MediaConverter: http://market.android.com/details?id=com.AndroidA.MediaConverter on your phone to see if you have any better luck with the conversion to AVI.

Thank you. I will give MediaConverter a try.

In the meantime, I had success with Windows Movie Maker. Converted the file to .wmv, uploaded it to SkyDrive, and was able to share it with those who need to see it.
