Problem creating groups in people app

I've searched far and wide and haven't seen anyone have this problem--so I assume I'm missing something glaring here ...

I'm trying to create a simple group in the people app. I go to the app>click the "group" tab on the left>and then I create a group. I'm asked under what account I want to create the group (my only option is my e-mail address).

When I start to type a person's name, only my e-mail contacts are recognized. It doesn't recognize any names from my actual contacts (I don't have e-mail addresses attached to these contacts). How can I create a group from the contacts I have in my "phone book."??

Did you ever figure this out? I'm having the same problem

It works as it should for me. And haven't been able to duplicate the problem (though to be fair I didn't give it a thorough attempt).

Some things to check... From the contacts list (center tab), check to ensure the contacts that aren't showing up for you when creating a new group are appearing there. If they're not, select Menu -> Contacts-To-Display, and make sure the settings there are correct.
