Hi,
when receiving a call, half the screen is blank. I only get to see the top of the contacts picture and the green and red "phones" for answering and rejecting the call are also not visible.
I kind of remember not having this problem the first few days having my nexus 5. Does anyone have an idea, what I could do, besides a hard reset of the device?

Thank you,

I think it always behaves this way. The contact picture occupies the entire screen. However, when you haven't picked up, the bottom half was covered by answer phone button. You need to touch the phone icon first. Then three additional icons show up (answer, reject and reply with SMS). You need to drag the phone icon to one of the three icons to take action. Once you answered phone, the bottom half will show rest of the contact picture.

the same happens to my stock Moto G (8GB, Amazon.de) and I was wondering if there is a solution for this. all my contacts look awful like this in the incoming call window -- and I gues it's really stupid to have more than the half of the screen completely black when you have such nice HD contact pictures stored.

That's the way it works. If you press on the phone icon you will then see the green to answer, red to send to voice mail and white paper to send a quick text reply. Just swipe accordingly.

During incoming call, screen blacks out

During incoming call, the lower half of the screen becomes black, hiding the caller picture.
