Problem. Only a few seconds of LTE. Please Help

My question is. Will they have a fix for the NV towers and the legacy towers conflicting with each other and not being compatible with the phone?, or is this something that you just luck out if you live in the wrong place? This seems like a serious problem so i would like to know. I only have 14 day to return the phone and cancel this JOKE of a service.

Sprint better come up with an answer fast because if I can't take advantage of the LTE in my area, I want to return this phone within my 14 days.

Just got my LG G2 and having the same issue connecting to 4G/LTE. My wife got a Galaxy S4 about two weeks ago and she hasn't had any issues getting 4G/LTE to connect.

I tried the suggestion of switching the Mobile Network setting and it hasn't made any difference, I'm still just hitting 3G. It's flashed to 4G/LTE a few times but it's been for maybe a second or two at a time. I've pretty much had nothing but problems since getting the phone three days ago.

- Can't get it to connect to my MacBook

- Can't get 4G/LTE

- Wasn't receiving text messages from anyone with iPhones

I love this phone but I'm becoming annoyed with it very quickly. I'm half tempted to return it for a Galaxy S4. My wife hasn't had ANY of these problems with her phone.

I assume this is the problem:

Nexus 5 and LG G2 experience temporary Sprint LTE connectivity issues due to Circuit Switched Fallback technology - Sprint 4G Rollout Updates

So there's no toggle between 3G and LTE if I want to turn on one or the other? It just autodetects? I'd rather be able to control that myself. I'm not able to find the toggle for it, at least. I have my mobile networks set to global. What's the difference between global and cdma/lte?

Elton

No, Elton, there is no toggle to choose between the 3G and 4G/LTE. It's very frustrating to have a new phone that won't even pick up a 4G network. One of the reasons I chose to upgrade was because my iPhone 4S was only capable of picking up 3G. Now, I've spent $200 to upgrade to yet another phone that will not pick up a 4G network. None of the file transfer programs work with this phone, and 4G doesn't work with this phone. I will probably have enough of it by the end of the week, return it, and spring for a Galaxy S4. It's a real disappointment, I'd really been looking forward to the LG G2...all for nothing.

Not trying to rub it in but hold fast. Once the towers are up and running in your area, you will be glad you waited.
LTE in the ATL is working great. I have Sprint Optimizer on and set to Global. Does not seem to make a difference for me.

My phone is also set to "Global." I've tried the other network settings as well, but I haven't seen any luck there, either.

I hit the Sprint store last night and they did acknowledge there was a network issue and it should be up and running fairly soon, as the new tri-band phones (Nexus, G2) were highly anticipated. He also mentioned things will get done quickly, as it is right before the holidays and they don't want tri-band phone sales to suffer. I guess that makes sense, so we'll see.

Received my LG G2 today, and am loving this beast of a phone. The LTE and 3G has handed off as needed beautifully here in the OKC metro. Hopefully Sprint updates problem areas quickly so everyone can enjoy there G2s fully. My phone settings are not changed from factory settings.

Glad you're having good luck with it!

Got the phone on the 15th. Haven't been able to get LTE service since the 16th. Confirmed by a Sprint rep on the phone. She suggested I return it to the store as it might be a hardware problem. Love the phone, but this is definitely a dealbreaker. Might have to get a Nexus 5 now.

If the problem is the CFSB issue, I hate to be the one to tell you the Nexus 5 is going to have the same issue.

If it is just a hardware problem with that specific phone, why exchange it for the Nexus 5 instead of getting another G2?

Good point. Seems like either phone will have the issue.

Just got off the phone with Sprint tech. He confirmed I should have great LTE service in my current location. He believes it's also a hardware issue. He was unaware of the CFSB issue, nor was he interested in me sending the article to him. Sigh. Guess I'll just go back to Best Buy and exchange it for a different one.

If the best buy is in your area, you won't even have to leave the store to test. Just try to get an LTE signal before leaving the store.

In fact if they have operating demos of the G2 and N5, you should be able to test it on those before you attempt to exchange. I would also try the LTE signal on a single LTE band phone like the Note 3,too.

If the Note 3 gets a great LTE signal and the G2 and N5 don't then it is the CSFB issue.

I experienced this 4G/3G handoff problem and the only solution was to switch to LTE mode from Global.

I should add that my LTE speeds are in the 1-2Mbps range.

Sprint LTE in my area is great. Averages about 15 down and 5 up. I'm super excited too cause I wasn't even expecting to have any LTE service. I haven't had any issues with switching from LTE to 3G either. So far it has been flawless. I'm loving this phone.
