Hi

I am a proud owner of the galaxy nexus and coming from a nexus one its a worthy upgrade. I purchased my device today and i am pleased to say its a brilliant phone. However i have a problem where the phone keeps putting the phone into silent. I have a video of this problem but not just with me atm. I will upload it to youtube so everyone can see. The side rocker volume doesnt appear to be damaged...more like a software issue. Is anyone else having this problem?

American here.

There have been many issues with this. Not surprisingly, either. A new phone with an entirely new OS; it's bound to have bugs. I haven't read all of this thread but hopefully someone in there has a hot fix for you until Google releases a new update. It shouldn't take too long considering Google's updates are fast.

I wrote this on the boards and I still believe its true. This volume issue thats becoming a ridiculous issue was not seen from any of the earlier builds with all the reviewers. This glitch is too big to ignore which means either its this specific build or a software issue. In any case, google should know about this or people should be telling them so they can send out an fix fast.

This may very well be the issue that could be holding up production and concrete delivery dates. I may sit on the sidelines a bit.

So torn whether to go ahead with my Handtec preorder. The network I use here runs on 850Mhz UMTS (HSPA) so it shouldn't affect me.

But, I spent good money and would hate to have something that is faulty :(

I went ahead and ordered mine. If there is a hardware recall, I'm on the hook for just the shipping to and from Handtec. They seem to be a good company. They even quote xda to show the problem.

Plus, you'd get yours quicker if they hold all of the orders. :-)

That kind of scares me if it is indeed a hardware problem. While I'd be getting the LTE version since I'm on Verizon, it would suck if it had the same issue. I'll have to wait and see what the verdict is after Verizon releases their version but at least I have my RAZR to hold me over in the meantime.

Yeah. It's kind of a tough choice for phone people like us. If you're worried about it hang tough. As much as Verizon erizon is a bunch of jerks they will eventually release the phone. I'm following Samsung on twitter.

I'm getting mine tomorrow.

Emailed Handtec this morning to get it sent :)

Google has identified the problem and has a fix ready!

Now all we need to do is wait to receive our GNexus ;)
