Problem receiving texts?

So, I recently bought an LG G4 to replace my Galaxy S6. I've only had it for a few days and I seem to be having trouble receiving texts just like on my Galaxy S6. It's mostly with one specific contact, whom I text most. I don't know if I am missing any other texts. I have Kik and Facebook messenger installed on my phone, but I do not use these for SMS messages. I'm just using the stock app for that. Is there anything I can do? it is very tiresome. I have the T-Mobile version and they keep giving me the run around.

Did you ever have an iPhone? If so, did you make sure to completely deactivate iMessage before switching to Android? Is that contact using an iPhone to send you messages?

Nope, I've never had an iPhone. And they have always had android too.

Have you checked to see if that contact got blocked somehow, either on the phone or through the carrier?

Is that person on an iPhone?
Regardless, have them delete your thread and you do likewise and see how it goes
