That's not technically true you just have to have a custom recovery in order to install a custom rom I went from unrooted stock straight to Quattrimus the other day without rooting first.

I would root my wii if it ran on Android, but i have already hacked it.

heheheh I just had to okay, you go here and download. it's the flash recovery without root option. you must have the recovery on your sdcard already.

That requires the use of fastboot mode. I believe bootloader is locked for all S/V basebands except zv4...
