I tried to connect my Note (smb600 wifi) to my HP All in one win7 pro pc this morning to copy a video that was on the ext sd card in the tablet. Just too lazy to pull the card out, find the adapter etc. I used a generic micro usb charge/data cable that works fine on my Galaxy s4 cell. But as soon as I plugged in the cable that was already attached to the pc, to the tablet, the pc just shut down. I rebooted first to safe mode, then clean boot and pc is fine.

But any ideas what could have caused this behavior?

After this I just pulled the card, found the adapter, and copied to pc, burning dvd now just fine

In all my time I only had one instance where manipulating USB plug wrong rebooted tablet and PC, somehow I managed to short something out, has only ever happened once.... I did you try to isolate/recreate problem, or just move on...

I have has another case where plugging something else into USB port on computer shut it down though, but though at time it was a fluke as PC is at least 10 years old and has had hundreds of things plugged into USB ports at one time or another....

Just moved on. It's a fairly new, 2-3 yr? PC all-in-one. Didn't want to tempt anything major happening.
