Problem taking picture with my phone for "home check deposit"

I've been using my phone to deposit checks at home without any problem, but today i tried depositing a check but as soon as the phone captures the check image, the app closes and i have to re-sign on and start all over. This happens with 2 different bank apps, making me have a feeling it's my phone. Any suggestions please?

Does the camera work as an actual camera?

a few things to check. make sure the app is the latest, make sure the phone itself is updated. you can try wiping the apps cache, you can try wiping the phones cache partition. finally you can try uninstalling and reinstalling the app.

I had that with my banking app about a year ago. All I could do was keep submitting reports (on their website), until I guess they got tired of seeing them and fixed the app. Nothing wrong with the phone, one update fixed the problem. (Then they added a "bonus" feature - the app shut down as soon as used the fingerprint sensor to verify it. That took another couple of months of bothering them to get it fixed.) Banking apps don't seem to be high on banks' lists of priorities to get bug fixes.
