Problem Using Voice Actions

Voice dictation of any kind is not working for me. Not in transcribing an email or hangout message. Not in even trying to do a voice search. After selecting the microphone, and starting to talk it just stops and says to reactivate when ready, as though i never said a word. I thought it might be a microphone issue so i plugged in headphones with an in-line mic and it worked one time and then stopped and hasn't worked since.

Seems like a hardware issue, but i wanted to see if anyone else was getting this or has any suggestions before I take it back.

Any luck on getting voice actions to work? Can't get it work like video says it works.

More likely a software issue. Start with a reboot. Might have to do a factory reset. Try to get it figured out before the end of any return/exchange period in case the problem isn't fixed in time.
