Problem with app

I use an app called FlightRadar24 which tracks aircraft around the world. If you're into that kind of thing it's pretty cool. Anyway, on both my previous phone (Pixel 3a XL) and my current 8 Pro the app will freeze the phone for several seconds if I zoom out with no filters so it shows all aircraft. Even occasionally if I have it filtered to show only Air Force aircraft when it is zoomed out it will do it. My son who has a Samsung A-something has never had this problem.
Any idea what could be the problem causing this and how to fix it?

I have Flight Radar on an iPhone and it runs perfectly - no freezes at all. This could be a case of the iOS version getting more attention than the Android version. Try deleting the app from your phone and downloading a fresh copy. This will ensure you have the latest version.

We use an app for work called Blue Yonder Workforce. Android users have to delete/redownload every time they change their passwords, which the company mandates every 90 days. iPhone users just have to update their password.
