Problem with Atrix 2

I'm not sure if this is worth it Or I should take it back To the ATT store. I have 2 problems with the phone
1) The camera shuts down when I use the telophoto part and I have to turn it back on.

2) I am loosing the apps I put on the phone when I shut down over nite. I restart and the apps show up on the home screen but when I try to access them the camera says " Application not installed on your phone" . It's not all apps but so far7 apps.( Astro file man. Dropbox, Goggles,Zumocast,Verizon media manager,ect.)
Should I just return the phone or am I doing somthing wrong?
I did stop at the ATT store to see if they could help but they haven't heard anyone else having problems,he told me to wait untill just before the 30 days was up ,if I was still having problems to return it. Any suggestions?
My last phone an HTC ARIA had most of the same apps with no problems.

Nothing you are doing wrong. Many of us have experienced the disappearing app issue. In the thread Atrix vs. Atrix 2 we are discussing it starting on page 7 if you care to see what others are saying about this issue.

Disappearing apps? Oh boy. I haven't had that problem and I hope it stays that way

I've seen the "app is not installed" error, and it is purely transient.
If you install, and then launch from the installation confirmation page, it will work, but you may encounter this error if you exit the app, and try to re-launch by long-pressing home.

Simply exit the Market app, and launch from the app drawer and its all fixed. Worst case is you have to open settings, FC the app, and clear data, and relaunch.

that may be what happens on your phone but on mine the app is not installed anymore.When I launch the app drawer the app no longer appears. It's still on the home screen but not working.When I open the app Android task manager it's also gone. So I have to redownload.My main concern is loosing information on the apps that I use for work should they disappear. I am now loading straight to the phones storage instead of the SD card. But since this is a new phone it shouldn't do this and I may return for something else.

There is a simple solution: I just went to the built in app manager: Menu->Manage Apps->On SD card, and then whatever apps were shown as installed on SD card (there is a green check mark next to it), I clicked on it and then moved to phone. Given that we have 4GB+ phone space (and that is not even user accessible), I think this is both efficient and solves the problem wonderfully

You should probably return the phone. We all have issues that are dealbreakers. This may be one for you. I do not like it but with 4.2 GB left internally for apps on my phone, I am ok with it for now. This phone has enough other good features so that I can live with this.

There are too many other phones out there for you to be unhappy with the Atrix 2 and not return it.

I really appreciate you taking the time to try to help.I just think these companies are rushing out this stuff knowing it isn't 100 % and we have gotten to the point of accepting it. Your right the Atrix2 is a really good phone but whats wrong with wanting it to be a great phone .I took the phone back because of a problem with the camera not the Apps so thanks for trying

I would return the phone --I have a new Atrix 2 and I have all the apps on the phone -none on my (old) 32GB SD. I have turned it on and off and pulled the battery and restarted several times and always have the same app count and acces to the apps.

I am not sure if the phone you have is bad -or if I am not seeing the issue because I did the "one step rooting" and then switched to ADW Ex as my interface. (no moto blur).

Regardless, I concur with the above --I would return the phone and at least get another, perhaps another model. . . .

Couple of problems/questions: How do I make pictures taken with Atrix 2 to save to SD card? Is their an option and I just missed it?

Pictures I take dont always show up in Gallery/Phone or SD card?

An update to my phone I took everyones advice and returned the phone I like the Atrix 2 so I thought I 'ld give it another chance. My new phone has the same problems plus now when I connect to the (Win XP) computer it doesn't see the phone I downloaded the newest drivers again but no help.When I disconnect the phone i loose all my pictures,or so I thought.I shutdown reset the SD card turn back on and the pictures are back. So that leaves me to wonder is there is a permament fix for the SD card or is this a lost cause?

What class card are you running? They have been having problems with the class 10 cards, class 6 & 4 seem to be fine. Try making a backup of all your cards contents on your computer. Then erase all contents on your card, pull the card out and reinsert it. Let the phone format it for you. Reinstall your backup back to your card and hopefully that will work for you.

There is no permanent fix yet, although I have had a class 4 sdcard in my phone since monday and have yet to get the read only issue again. When u plug ur phone into the comp, does anything at all happen? When I plug mine in for the first time and selected "mass storage" my comp immediately began installing the necessary drivers, including MotoHelper.

I'm not sure what class SD Card it is, but it is a PNY HC 4 8 GB.
When I plug into the computer it shows up as a drive but when I try to access it it says to insert a disc.I installed new driver from MOTO site plus Media Link but they don't see the phone at all

Oh, you've got the "mass storage" issue.....did you pull down the notification bar and select "mass storage"? This happened to me once, after I rooted, I did a factory reset and its been fine since.

Hey Digger you SD Card is a PNY HC 4 (Class 4) 8GB. I was using a PNY SDHC 10 (Class 10) 8GB, because it had a faster read/write speed but gave me nothing but problems. Also was having the same problems you are having so I went to a Kingston SDHC 4 (Class 4) 8GB and so far its working. I formatted the Class 4 on PC as well as on the Atrix 2, little overboard but I was running out of ideas. Good luck I know how frustrating it can be.

So you guys think switching to a different manufactures card might help since my card is already class 4. I also don't get why I downloaded a live wallpaper onto the phone not the SD card but somehow it is now on the SD card.I see on Motos forum that this is also happening. Any thoughts how the phone is able to do this can't be the SD card.
