Problem with my Captivate

Does anyone know how i can get my captivate to exit the opening screen of at&t world phone?? I bought the phone from a friend and Im thinking it does not have the programming on it, or that i need to do something else...If anyone else has had this problem please give me insight on what to do besides take it to at&t for repair...hopefully its something that I can do over the computer by installing an OS or something...I dont know, please somebody help!!!

my GUESS is that its bricked (OS on teh phone got screwed up and wont run..) my GUESS as to how to fix it would be reflashing the rom to it.. you can do that by looking at this thread Odin3 One-Click

You will need the USB drivers for this and they are on that forum... link in 1st post..

I was able to get my phone into the download mode by pulling the battery letting it set for a minute putting battery in Running Odin3 on my computer the while holdling both volume buttons plug the USB cable into the phone.. then clicking start..

depends on the price and if he told him it didnt work to start with..$30-$40.. if i couldnt get it to work i'd use ti for parts.. like a OEM replacment screen if anything happened to mine =)

well extract it with winrar then run it (FOLLOWING the directions on the forum post that was link to earlier..
