problem with password logging into google on android please help goin coo coo

i had to reset my phone galaxy 2, and now i'm tryin to log into google to get my contacts and it keeps telling me wrong password. i've tried chaging my password
3x and still gives me wrong password when i try logging in on phone. any suggestions?

Welcome to Android Central! You've confirmed that the password works when you log in on the web?

Try removing the account from the phone, then adding it back again.

didn'twork even redid my password on my computer then tried, no dice

Which password is failing? The one that you use to log into your Google account, or the one to unlock the phone from the lockscreen?

logging into google, you think maybe turning off second step notification will help because thats the phone?

It wouldn't hurt to turn off 2-step temporarily. Not sure if that will be the main solution, though.
