Help..I switched to galaxy note 3 from iPhone 4s. I can send texts to iphones but I can't receive them. I can get texts from my husband's note 3 but not from any iphone. I even unregistered my iphone and it didn't matter. Chatted with Samsung and they said it seemed to be an iPhone issue. Tried to chat with apple and they wanted to charge me $19 to chat. Can someone help? Very frustrated
Thanks Marsha

Do you get a 'new mms' message? That happens to me sometimes from iphones

The first place I would look is at the iPhone. Be sure you're not still registered in the iPhone as an imessage contact.

I think you can log into iTunes and ture off imessage for your old phone.

I had the same problem with my girlfriend texting me. Just delete the contact from phone then re-add them to your contacts. For some reason some iPhone's keep Imsg saved for that contact so text's don't go trough

I don't have the issue. But I made sure to turn off iMessaging, before I backed up my contacts, and phone one last time, and before activating the N3

Make sure your iPhone friends delete the sms threads they have with you on their phone and start a new one. That helped my friend when he switched to the note 3.

This is obviously a huge and ongoing problem. How is it that AT&T, Verizon, etc aren't trained to instruct consumers to turn their iMessage off before removing the SIM card or trading the phone in? There doesn't seem to be one suggested fix for this that works for everyone, after the fact. But it sounds like it could be easily avoided before the switch from iphone to Android.

Thanks everyone. I'll try your suggestions. I've already unregistered my phone. I'll try deleting my iphone contacts and reentering them. Everybody I know has a iphone. Will take me awhile.

There was an earlier thread on this where someone helpfully mentioned to turn off "iMessage" in your iPhone settings. I did this and haven't had any problems with multiple friends and associates who use the iPhone. Might be an easy fix prior to deleting your contacts.

Welcome to Android Central, Marsha. Disabling iMessage should work. At least, it seemed to fix the issue for many other people with the same issue (different devices) coming from an iPhone.

Let us know how things go.

you need to go to your apple account and de-register your iphone....

This. That way iMessage will stop trying to take over your text messages.

On VZW here - I can confirm turning off imessage works.

My imessages have been turned off, and I still can't receive texts from iphones. I have the htc 1 m8.

Had the same problem when I got the Note in October. Did ALL of the already suggested solutions but what ultimately fixed it (well it was the last thing I did) was having the iPhone users go into their msg settings and turn on send as sms if iMessage is not available. Hope that helps.

This is because when ios was updated to 7 that setting is defaulted to off. So the phone will only ever send Imessages, if they fail it just keeps retrying to send as imessage.

Where are you turning imessage off? On the other person's iphone? Or is there somewhere on the note 3 to turn it off? Sorry just confused. I have unregistered my iphone and unfortunately it was traded in. I am still not receiving texts from my husband's iphone.
