problem with slideshow in texts

Is there a way to change the settings to have the images on screen for more than 2 seconds? I do know that you can pause and move forward and backward by touching the bottom of the screen. I'm looking more to have the images on for maybe 5 seconds before going to the next slide.

While the slideshow is going, try hitting the phone's menu button. Is there a settings option to select where you can then change the playback speed? It works that way in Gallery.....

This works for the slide show in Gallery as Synycalwon mentioned in the post before yours, however it does not work for the text messages. I don't know if a rooted phone has this kind of option. I have a stock MR2 updated phone. Thanks for your responces I hope to find an answer soon.

I believe the burden is on the person sending the text if that does not work. You can definitely change how long the slides stay when you are the one sending the message by hitting menu and I always extend the time past the preset two seconds when I send a pic just to be courteous. I wish there were a way to Chang the default time...
