Problem with tethering after update

So I updated my Droid X2 and since then tethering won't work. I tried rooting it again but that won't work either. I'm on 2.3.3 now, is there a way to downgrade? I'm assuming the updates the problem because I had no problems before that. I've looked through the forums and don't know if I should "sbf". I don't really know what I'm doing so I don't want to do the wrong thing. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I had my droid rooted and tethering fine before the update. After the update i can't tether and when I try to re-root it, it won't let me.

OK, So I downloaded and tried Barnacle and it says it requires "su" access and to make sure that my phones rooted. I guess that one-click didn't work.

Ye..im almost positive there's a root-checker app on market to maybe help you double check..barnacle is great so keep messing around with rooting it and hopefully you'll get it
