Problem with WhatsApp

So I recently got an s8, coming from a BlackBerry priv, but I've been having problems setting up WhatsApp.

On the s8 it asks me to put in my phone number so it can send me a verfication code, but it keeps saying it can't send. Anyone know what the problem is?

WhatsApp uses a data connection to send and receive messages. Do you have a functioning Wi-Fi connection? Do you have cellular data enabled?

WhatsApp sends an sms verification code. But you can also select Call Me instead to verify. Maybe try that?
