So here is the issue, downloaded z4root and thundeROM and followed the steps listed on this ssite to the letter. When I reach the step that says select install from zip file (or something like that) and there is no zip files found. However in the boot menu at tje bottom it says thunderom and in my app drawer (once rebooted) still has superuser with nothing in it, even though im no longer rooted. Now z4root as of today is no longer available please help I would aprieciate it

Good news I was able to use nandroid on the custom recovery to get all my info back bad news I went through the process again and got the same zip file not found when trying to apply thunderom ... I'm sure someone out there can help

Where did you get z4 root? If you got it from the market, then you need to uninstall it, type in "z4 root xda" in google, and get it from the xda forums. That's the one that actually works.

Beyond that, if superuser is in your app drawer and you're sure you're on the ROM (looking up screenshot would be a dead give away here, the icons in the notification bar should match), then I'm a bit stumped.

Try using another ROM and see if you can flash it. If you have root access and a custom Recovery installed, you should be good to go.
