Hi I factory reset my s7 edge today and since it has been sluggish not like it was before also the battery life still seems poor, what can i do?

Set it up from scratch, rather than using a backup. Try to use it for a few days at close to factory condition, and see it is still sluggish.

I only did the reset due to battery life and phone was working perfectly fine it wasnt sluggish at all just after the reset this has started happening

I know it's just going to sound weird but trust me I had to do 3 factory reset over the course of a few days, months ago on my S7 because it refused to work properly with Bluetooth in my car despite having worked fine for many months after purchase. I almost returned the phone under warranty and got another one but I didn't want to get a refurb so that's why I did the third factory reset and thank God that fix the problem with Bluetooth

You might get everything fixed up if you do one more factory reset and reinstall everything from scratch rather than from a backup as I've had problems doing resets and then backups from my computer

It is always best to not do a restore after a factory reset. You just might be restoring what prompted you to do a factory reset in the first place☺

Yep I'd echo what others said. I did a reset recently and I let my Google and Samsung accounts restore everything; phone was way worse than before with loads of bugs. Did a full reset since and started afresh. It took about 30 minutes longer but the phone is running brilliantly now.

What shouldn't I restore if I do factory reset again?

I had let Samsung back up my apps and then picked it to reinstall them after the reset. Had loads of small issues like Pocketcasts not showing up in Android Auto any more, Samsung Pass stalling on wepsite login, etc. After this reset I just took some screenshots of what was in my app drawer and started as a new device (ended up only reinstalling 75% of them anyway). All I restored from backup were my SMS and signing back into Google restored my contacts (only works if you use your gmail account for contacts). I even formatted my SD card before the reset this time round.
