Problems after flashing phone with new rom...

Having a problem now.. I flashed over to the thunderom 1.5 which i got off the website here.. I cant download and play angry birds, Pocket Legends.. im having some trouble with my gps not working.. a few problems with voicemail app and some animated text i get arent working correctly.. I used the z4root to root my phone and the android terminal to recover and rom my phone.. everything was working peachy keen right before i flashed.. so i heard someone say that stagefreight and jit if im not mistaken on the spelling are enabled in this rom.. could that be the problem? Is there anywhere to just get the basic thunderom with this stuff turned off so i can test and see if thats it.. any help or suggestions are much appreciated. Thanks.

Hmmm..still haven't fix these problems yet.. maybe someone can help me on this.. what should my min number be set at if I have overclock widget? I know 806 freezes my phone and 760 is the sweet spot for max.. but should I leave min alone or is there a better number to put?

I would suggest starting from scratch. Completely stock. Then load thunderom (which isn't jit and stage fright enabled by default) and try everything again. Then load your oc kernel and test everything. Report back with when you start having problems along the way. Also don't forget to try everything on stock again first... Then that will give us more to work with. It seems you have done many things to your phone already and this is this best way to do it as opposed to trying to eliminate every variable that you have thrown out here already. Hope this makes sense. We should be able to work out what's going on with your phone so don't worry, have patience and lets figure this thing out.

Alright thanks.. Ive confirmed that they DO not work without thunderom 1.5 and those Xionia Oc Kernals.. and sprint wasnt much help when i called.. they told me to call telenav gps... Im lost here.. I did everything our guide on here says to do. I used the How To Root, Recover And Rom without touchin a pc.. i followed the instructions to a t..

then im unclear on how to correctly flash a kernal.. but i just go into recovery.. go to flash.. then click on the kernal and reboot.. now thats the correct way?? I sure hope so.. but im also not forsure what to overclock too.. i leave the minimum number alone on Overclock Widget and put the top number to 768 Mhz because 806 caused my phone to crash..

Lastly, Even unrooted, recovered and romed, im getting error -18 Unknown when i download angry birds or pocket legends.. most other games work that ive tried.. just those im getting that error.. So whats my next steps yall??

well if you can overclock to 768/806/crash then you must have succesfully flashed the kernel. if you flashed my (Xionia) kernel in t he system info it should say either xionia@sky or zefie@shino for kernel version.

As for games, I haven't tried any. the gfx driver was untouched so i see no issue kernel-wise. did you apply the jit and/or stagefright mods?

If so try removing the stagefright.

No, I havent messed with those two settings (jit or stagefright).. Alright well then its up and working.. also zefie.. you mentioned on the how to that there were a few errors from the original poster on putting my commands in.. could these few items be messing with my phone and doing some of this??

Edit: Also Ive ran some some test here lately.. I ran the quadrant test.. with the flashed TR 1.5 and the TR kernel and im only getting 494.. how in the world are yall getting 900-1000.. I even saw a screenshot from nick where his wasw 1300.. WOW.. I guess im doing something wrong.. because im following every step of every know how thread.. and im just sucking here... lol...

the culprit maybe the overclock widget of choice. it was the issue in my case. try something like setcpu and see how things develop.

Don't expect Sprint to help you out with ROMs or anything of the sort. They don't support it, and it risks breaking the phone and thus costing them money, so they'd rather not help you out with it anyways. Aside from that, even if they're willing, the odds of the Sprint rep having the exact same phone as you and running the exact same modifications you are is very, very slim, so it's unlikely they know how to help anyways.

As for the Quadrant Scores, you get a higher score with Jit and Stagefright enabled (which they are not in the latest version of ThundeROM). Running without them I got 406 in Quadrant, running with them enabled I got 762. (EDIT: The first "with" test happened right after a boot since I had to flash it, did it again and I got 893)

As for the apps you mentioned, Angry Birds, Pocket Legends, and GPS fixing works fine on my phone with ThundeROM, though I don't have the OC kernel enabled (no bank account so I can't buy SetCPU to enable it). Both games run very well, and GPS usually puts me in my neighbor's apartment after a moment (it will be badly off initially but get the correct location within 30 seconds). So it's either your phone, or something weird with how you're doing the OC kernel.

Okay, i appreciate the info there.. I know im not home right now, im visiting my parents in a uber small town in north central arkansas.. and im roaming.. so that may have something to do..

I honestly can say my gps worked on the 20th.. but i havent used it untill i flashed over.. so i dont know if its just because of where i am.. i mean i have full 3g signal.. but i am in roam.. so i dunno.. as far as the apps.. I just wish i knew what -18 error meant.. maybe then i could figure out my problems..

As for the games.. I can honestly say i found a thread just ten minutes ago as to how to flash my oc kernel.. and i have been doing it right... So i guess it might be my phone.. but i can get it to get a fix on me in google maps.. zoom down to some forest like area that my house isnt it.. but shows im there.. and get driving directions to wherever..

i cant get it to do the pedestrian view where i can look at the street... But i also cant use the icon Navigation.. it loads then says " Finding Location".. and never goes any further..so im completely lost.. Im just woundering if i can go completely stock using android terminal emulator..

Alright, well i finally had to call sprint.. Talked to a new tech today and explained my problem with no gps signal and a problem with my incoming calls.. they worked thru it.. resent the signal to my phone.. still nothing. Then they had me enter a command from my dial pad to completely erase all data from my phone and put it back to in the box new.. My gps is now working correctly, my internet is much faster.. but I still cant get angry birds or pocket legends to install correctly.. but hey.. im just glad i got my gps back. Oh btw.. I'm backed to being flashed to TR and having my new kernels installed.. and gps is still great!!
