Problems Connecting Stereo Bluetooth

I have my Droid paired with my car stereo for both phone and audio. Sometimes it will connect to both phone and audio just fine. More often than not, it only connects the phone. I go into bluetooth settings and options on the Droid to check the connections. The phone has both boxes checked when paired with the car stereo. But, the car stereo shows only the phone is actually connected.

The problem can be fixed by unchecking the box for the audio, then recheck the box and it resets the connections. Generally, this works the first time. But sometimes it takes multiple efforts.

Is this a known glitch? Any simpler ways of fixing it? It's so bad that I have shortcut on my home screen to the bluetooth settings.

I thought it might be the car stereo, but the same problem happens with my both pairs of Sony bluetooth stereo headsets I've owned.

I have the same issue with my Sony car deck; I've been using the same workaround, either uncheck the audio box on the Droid or turn off/turn on the Bluetooth on either device to reinitialize. Oddly this has never been a problem for my Jabra SP700, just the Sony.

That's interesting because my care stereo is a Sony, too. I figured the problem was with the phone, but it could be the stereo?

I had a similar problem with a Motorola bluetooth stereo headset. My new Motorola headset doesn't seem to have the same problem.
