Problems copying files from my pc to Nexus 7 (2013) ?

Ok I have about 7GB of photos on my PC stored in in lots of folders that I want to copy to my Nexus.

Its a 32MB model. I have it connected via the USB lead it came with and just dragged and dropped the top folder onto the Nexus. All goes great for about 5 mins and 500MB before I get an error

"unfortunately, the process android.process.media has stopped"

In fact it happens whatever I try to copy at around 500mb or 5 mins. None of the files are larger than about 2-3mb i.e. just photos.

Switched on and off connected and reconnected but happens every time

Any ideas ?

Silly question but have you tried copying in a smaller amount? Break it up into 2 or 3 actions to move them over.

Another workaround would be to try a wireless transfer solution like AirDroid or Wifi File Explorer.

Yep tried copying in smaller blocks and that works but surely people copy larger files at a time than 500mb ?

Its slow enough with a wired connection with wireless it would take hours

Why not just put them in cloud storage and access them that way? That way they're accessible from all devices.
