Problems getting USB Tether to work..please help

I just bought this Optimus Slider a few days ago and using it with Virgin Mobile. I just cannot get USB tether to work and have tried using both EasyTether and Faveset Klink. I connect the phone to the computer, but it the programs just cannot find the phone.

I know it is connected though because I can see the microSD card in Mass Storage Mode. And yes I have USB Debugging set to ON and have tried it both in mass storage mode and charging only mode from there.

I also downloaded the LG Mobile Support Tool from the LG website

and it can't find my phone either.

I can provide more details if necessary but hoping someone had this exact same problem and knows an easy fix. I'd rather not root this phone yet and would like to test out USB tether before I possibly root and do wifi tether, etc. I don't now if the 3G around here is fast enough and just wanted to test it with my laptop for awhile first...thanks.

Try downloading wirless teether rooted. That works for me. Unless you have to use the usb teether wether it be you computer can't access wifi.

I believe that you can use the Optimus V drivers for this phone, someone correct me if I'm wrong?

I don't know whether they are officially Optimus V drivers, but that IS correct. Around the rooting forums they touted a set of about three installers that went before trying to connect the phone.

I will see if I can dig them up, but it shouldn't be hard for you to fine them either.

wireless tether works great for me too (rooted)
