First off. Loving the phone. ICS is slick, phone is fast. Not sure if i like the whole add the icon to the desktop on installing an app thing but i am sure i can turn that off somewhere. Overall loving the phone.

Problems i have encountered so far though (legitimate problems not things i want like more screen rows and columns)....

1: can't seem to get Facebook Contact info to sync. Not a huge dealbreaker but pictures and ancillary info was nice to have.

2: Incompatible apps: got a bunch but i am sure that will go away....

3:Second problem i have now found. was able to copy over Ring Tones and Notification sounds no problem, but when i went to copy Pictures over in MTP mode it just Hung my PC. Have to copy pictures over in PTP mode to make it work but it's going SLOOOOOOOOOOW. Like USB 1.0 slow. Mind you this is on Windows 7 64bit so......

4: Bluetooth: it connects to both my Computer (asus bluetooth adapter) and my motorola SD-10 bluetooth headphones, but neither one plays sound with Google listen. Grrr......

I'll update more as i find quirky problems, but i am curious if anyone else is experiencing this too? or has found fixes? Maybe we can get something of a master list on here of problems of this nature

Haven't had any issues with it for the last couple weeks. My Facebook contacts synced immediately. For the Apps automatically coming onto the desktop (I didn't like that), the setting to change that is in the Android Market settings.

Also, for the transferring of pictures, try switching from MTP to PTP ( click on the USB symbol on the phone when plugged in). Worked better for me.

I did end up doing that for the transfer but it was 900 meg of photos in like 45 minutes. super slow

Phone is fast! Love it so far but i find myself hitting the home button inadvertantly while typing and trying to hit space bar. This is a major drawback of not having a physical button.

1. Coming from Thunderbolt to Nexus, can't get all of my contacts to load.

2. When receiving a txt message from one of my contacts, the name does not show up

3. when receiving a call from one of my contacts, the name does not show up

4. Can't transfer all of my pictures

5. Can't remove the voice actions widget

6. When using another sms app (gosms) and I receive a txt message, I get a notification from the default text app as well. So I now have two notifications for one message.

7. I continue to receive old emails. Emails keep coming in as new message, but they're a month old.

8. Does not appear to have the ability to be on a call and surf the web at the same time. The Thunderbolt was able to do this.

Guys, the Facebook sync missing is intentional. This was Google's doing, and happened in the Nexus S as well. Google wants the information 'synced' from Facebook to be available in more than a 'read only' mode from Facebook, like all of the other information synced. Facebook won't play nice with Google's API's for this, so Google removed the ability to half-assed sync FB information to your contacts.

So, 1088933, how did you get your FB contacts to sync? Cause they shouldn't be able to... If you go to Settings, Accounts & Sync, click Add, then FB, it should fail and go right back to the previous screen.

Not intentionally. All I know is that when I first got the phone I had all my phone contacts, then installed the Facebook app and went to my contacts to find them in there with all their pictures.

I find having FB pics on screen quite useful, my last HTC phone did this out of the box. These days google and FB do not get on so well and google probably wants us to synch with +1 in the long run.
Anyway just thought I'd let you know an app which will bring in the FB pics for you. Its available on the market for free and it's called Friendmatcher

By the way 1088933 I can't see how you're contacts would synch with facebook (without an extra app) because google have actually stated that this will not happen.

Did you by chance install Friendcaster to get them to sync? That's the only way I know to get FB contacts to sync. It's public knowledge that FB and vanilla Android will not sync. It's been that way for quite some time. That's why 3rd party apps are needed, or manufacturers like HTC making their own apps to sync with FB.

You seem to almost have a bad software load. I would restore 4.0.2 and try again

are you sure it was facebook and not twitter?

I think we should have it, but would you use it? wouldn't it be like 500 contacts.

1. Coming from Thunderbolt to Nexus, can't get all of my contacts to load.

Maybe they're not in the My Contacts group in your gmail account. In the People app you can so select which groups should show up.

2. When receiving a txt message from one of my contacts, the name does not show up

3. when receiving a call from one of my contacts, the name does not show up

Sometimes it happens if the contact's number isn't saved in the right format, ie with or without the international dialing code.

For example my Japanese phone will match a contact calling if I saved it without the +82 country code, while my nexus s doesn't seem to care so much.

6. When using another sms app (gosms) and I receive a txt message, I get a notification from the default text app as well. So I now have two notifications for one message.

Just as in previous versions of Android, you probably should disable the notifications from within the stock messaging app.

I hope this helps a bit :)

top phone left apple for android
gripes so far
poor battery i find im charging 2 times on heavy use "i like to play with my toys :D"
cam click gives away sneaky pics in public places
facebook wont sync and wont let me add a new account in the "accounts/sync options"
cam can be blurry if the object/person moves the slightest
so many apps need to pull there fingers out and start converting to ics

other than that which im learning to deal with moving from apple has been the best thing ive done in 2 years no looking back here

I've only had one real problem since I got the phone on launch day. I've had a couple longer phone calls (usually I'm on and off in 5 minutes or less) and during the call the other person stopped being able to hear me. I verified that the phone was no on mute so it wasn't an issue of me accidentally hitting the mute toggle. When that happened I had to hang up and call them back and it was fine, but it happened 3 times on the same call and then happened on a call with another person.

Battery is the only possible thing that could be an issue but I leave LTE turned off almost all the time. For normal use when the phone is just downloading emails, synching other app data, there is just no need for LTE speeds. Leaving LTE off I've been able to easily get 20+ hours on my battery.
