Thought I'd start something to discuss open issues or quirks with the S3.

I am on AT&T and have my S3 paired to an LG V20. AT&T Numbersync is enabled. Email coming into the default email app sends notifications to the S3 with no issue. Google traffic notifications seem to be fine as well.

One issue so far was with Textra as my default app. I would get notifications but did not have the ability to reply on the S3. Since I was running the free version of Textra, I went back to the stock messaging app and had no issues with being able to reply.

I do, however, notice that some text replies went to my phone but did not go to the S3. I also had one text that I sent from the S3 that did not show up in the conversation on my phone and I'm unsure if the recipient received it either.

I did notice that the S3 prefers Bluetooth when in range of my phone but automatically switches to LTE if I get too far from my phone. I think this is a good idea but wonder if it could be part of the reason for my failed texts.

Just some thoughts....

My biggest issue is the inability to record a lap in the running app.

How is the battery life for you guys? I took my S2 and S3 off the chargers at 8:45am. It is 6:09 and my S2 is at 74% and my S3 is at 11%. S2 an AT&T version, connected to an iPhone 6 Plus. S3 is an AT&T version, connected to a S7 Edge.

No issue yet but I will have a better idea tomorrow when I go to work. Yesterday and today I was running errands but the watch never dropped below 54%. Mine is attached to my LG V20.

One thing that bothers me is the fact the timer I downloaded from the app store doesn't work correctly on the s3 when the time is up it doesn't notify you, my gear fit 2's timer worked fine but not the gear s3

Have mined paired to a V20 as well but with Tmobile. Picked it up yesterday afternoon and have yet to charge it. Wore it a little last night and all day today out walking with AOD on and S Health GPS tracking on and just hit 50% at 6:30pm. Was around 86% when i first powered it on yesterday.

Thank you for all that responded. I will see in a couple of days how it holds up. If in a week it is still draining as it is, I will exchange it.

Which timer did you download? I downloaded the one from Samsung and it notified me every 3 mins for 30 mins.

This one, and many people on the reviews are complaining about the same thing on their s3

How is your S2 "connected" to your iPhone? What apps/functions are running on it? I'm guessing the reason the battery is lasting so long is because the watch is operating at a minimal level because it's not paired to a compatable device. To definitely determine it, swap the devices: pair the S3 with the iPhone and the S2 with the S7.

It is connected using the Gear manager app for iPhone. I had so side load it and use a profile to operate it. My phone calls, texts, emails and all other app notifications come through it. I noticed my S3 takes a lot longer to charge to 100%.

I've had mine on for about 14 hrs now and the battery is at 49%. I've been playing with it all day (just got it yesterday), AOD is on, texts, emails, installing and uninstalling apps, etc. My S2 after a normal day is at about 45-50% after 9 hrs. Both watches are connected to my Note 5 (can only use 1 at a time). I'm really liking this watch and battery life so far.

The reason that your text are not showing up is because when your watch (second phone number) gets notified that you missed a text and you reply from your watch, it's coming from that watch phone number. That's why it's not showing up in your thread on your phone.

I'm coming from the gear S and mine would do the same thing in regards to always going to LTE when i was to far. That's normal unless you unselected that in your settings.

I'm also having battery issues. Got mine last night, messed around on it then turned it off. Threw it on the charger real quick this morning and got it up to 80%. Took it off the charger around 630 am. It's now 1 pm and I'm at 21%.

You guys getting good battery life, what are your settings? Display brightness, alway on turned on or off? Etc.
So far this battery life is terrible. Maybe if I give it a full charge it will perform better. (didn't fully charge it when I first got it)

I figured it said that. That's why I specified I didn't. I'm just not sure if that would actually have an affect like this on the battery.
It would. The watch needs to calibrate with the battery to give you accurate battery percentages. Charging to 100 percent helps that process. You should see perceived battery life grow over the next couple weeks, just like a cellphone. Basically the best an electronic device can do is guess at the true battery state of charge.
