Problems, quirks, etc.

One thing that bothers me is the fact the timer I downloaded from the app store doesn't work correctly on the s3 when the time is up it doesn't notify you, my gear fit 2's timer worked fine but not the gear s3

I have the same issue with the timer apps. This is a function I use daily at work in a lab. S2 worked, S3 does not. I am very aggravated.

I too use the timer app a lot, they will need an update so that it can function on the s3, another poster said his works fine difference between me and him is I don't have a galaxy device I have the LG v20 so hopefully it gets fixed soon.

Update to my prior comment (see below): I changed my default messaging app to Textra and have found that I can reply to my Textra notifications, so that's pretty cool. I've always just stuck with the stock Google messaging app but gave Textra a shot and it worked. So a slight work around to the limited functionality at least in relation to the messaging response portion.

Initial post: I have a 6P as well. I haven't been bothered by too many of the limited compatibility issues. One annoying thing I've noticed so far is that when I get a message I can't reply directly to it but I can go to the messaging app on the S3 and send one to that person from there. Not a deal breaker but a little irritating. As far as Samsung Pay, it isn't available for use yet if you don't have a Sammy phone. Chat support stated an app should be launched to the Play Store to allow non-Sammy phones to download Samsung Pay to use with the S3. Wasn't given a time frame though.

Try Uninstalling and re-installing the timer app, and see if that works it worked for me.

Thats because they updated it

O OK, before I Uninstalled it said latest version installed so I Uninstalled it, and then it wouldn't show up on the app store so today I looked it up again and it was there installed in and now it's working.

I needed the stopwatch to work so I can set it up and it could remind me when the rinse cycle comes on to add Downey to my clothes lol

I'm noticing that, compared to my moto 360 2nd gen, notifications take a LOT longer to come via Bluetooth from s7 edge. The moto would be almost instantaneous whereas the s3 can take about a full minute. Anyone else?

I am getting great battery life!! S3 Classic, connected to Pixel XL

The only thing I really dont like is...when I open a notification, I cant just swipe it away right there. I have to go back out, then go back to the notification to swipe it away. Anyone know how to fix this?? Or am I doing it wrong??

I suspect it is designed that way because notifications scroll up/down by swiping. I think it would be hard to implement both. I agree that it is a bit of a pain to back out before swiping it away. Some customizable left/right swipes would be nice. Swipe left to dismiss, swipe right to show on phone, etc.

Why not just use the alarm or set reminder.

The timer app was updated to work on the s3, so I now have a working timer, I like the quickness and convenience of setting up the timer so it can remind me the rinse cycle is on and to put Downey on my clothes.

The bezel on mine seems loose. Not sure if this is normal but if I tap on the edge of the bezel I can see it move down and it actually makes a tapping noise, thought it slides/turns without issue... So far it doesn't make any noises if I shake it but makes me wonder how water resistant it actually is

Anyone have an issue with the s3 getting extremely hot (mine went into a safe mode) if using the s2 charger? This happened with mine but it does not get hot while charging the s2. The s2 charger is an off brand.

Yeah mine is the same.. Bezel ever so slightly loose.. If I tap on it, it makes a noise.. Seems to work fine, I assumed that was part of the design

To get rid of the notification without first going back to the hone screen, you can press the dotted menu button and then tap on the delete icon.
