Problems transfering MMS to new S9

I used Samsung Smartswitch to transfer data from my old S4 to my new S9. One thing that didn't seem to fully work was MMS messages. The text came through, but not attachments.

What can I do? If I tried running the transfer again, would I risk creating duplicates of the rest of the messages that have already transferred?

In your text app, have you a selection for 'save mms'?

Not that I can see... I'm just using the stock messaging app on both the S4 and S9.

Interesting, I don't seem to have all those multimedia message settings. Only 4 of your 5 toggles, and nothing about restrictions or multimedia limits.

The pictures aren't in the texts, only a link to them is. Download them, then they should copy over.

Thanks, I'm not an advanced user so I'm not fully literate on all this...

When you say "download them", do you mean re-do the transfer with Samsung Smart Switch? Is there any chance that process would delete the messages on my new phone that have come in since the first transfer?

Yes, Smart Switch.

And no, copying doesn't delete anything. It will overwrite an existing picture if you copy it again.

Thanks. But unfortunately re-doing the SmartSwitch didn't bring the missing pictures back.

Any other suggestions?
