Problems transferring audio files to SD card

I have recently bought a new SD card for my Galaxy S4. I plugged my phone into my computer to transfer my music files onto my new card, however, when I try to play the music files on my phone I either get a message saying audio file not supported or the song plays but the sound is distorted. The files all work absolutely fine on my computer and the majority were also on my previous SD card where they also played fine. It does not happen with every file but seems to be quite random. Could it be a problem with my new SD card (it is not an official Samsung one)? Any help would be much appreciated.

I have found that Samsung devices don't always play well with other brands of memory card. There could be several reasons for this, but the bottom line is that you are better of paying a little extra for an honest-to-Bob Samsung memory card.
