Problems using custom ringtones on TBolt

I am able to use an MP3 as my default ringtone; but, when I set them for individual contacts, only the default ringtone plays. Can anyone help me with what I am doing wrong? Thanks!

I dont do this from the people widget. I usually use Zedge ringtones to find ringtones or RingDroid to trim MP3s to a shorter length. Both allow you to assign to a contact, and I've never had a problem with either. Market links below.

Another option is to open the Music app, scroll to the song you want and then tap menu -> more -> set as ringtone -> contact ringtone. I've never had any problems doing it this way.

u need to uncheck the default ringtone....i have issues with assigning a custom ringtone just for the ring and not all notifications....help!

I wish we could assign custom SMS tones to each person without installing a separate app. :-(

but handcent sms is a much better texting app!!!
