So, I finally got the "unknown sources" option and I thought I'd play around a little bit. I read people saying that Applanet is a good alternative market. Thing is I can install the market apk, but when I try to open it, I get "a network error has occured". Anyone else have this issue, or know how to fix it?

Can you install anything from the Amazon market? My understanding is that applanet is mostly pirated software and not very trustworthy.

The Dec for appplanet is working on the site. That's why we keep getting the error.

To call the people behind that site "developers" is an insult. People can use that site if they choose, but let's call a spade a spade. That place isn't an "alternative app store," it's a software piracy store. I can't stress enough the security concerns one should have getting apps from that place. If you do choose to get stuff there, just beware of the permissions and security you must give up.

Okay, then what would you recommend as an alternative app store? Yeah, Amazon, I get it. So far, not impressed. What else?
