Problems with Google on 4G?

As far as I've experienced, it's only Google-related sites. If 4G is hanging generally (e.g., showing up arrow only but no data is actually coming down), one thing to try is to go to airplane mode and back. That has usually worked for me.

I have tried this and it does usually help, but why should I have to? Seems to take a good two minutes to get in to airplane mode, get out and wait for a 4G signal to acquire. Works, but not an acceptable solution.

I'm having same problem. Non-rooted Thunderbolt. Entire Los Angeles 4G area giving me problems with Google sites. Most non-Google sites seem fine. Anybody have a theory on why that could be?

I'm also having trouble with selected apps (e.g. Speedtest).

I am having the problem in socal to its happening for all websites has anyone heard from or contacted verizon about this?

Still having problem with this. Also, Google maps takes forever searching for places. And when going to nav mode, it just stays on the loading screen.

Google voice to text also is doing the in progress screen.

All in 4g, good strong signal.

I'll try to contact Verizon today. Hopefully we will get answers on why is this.

Yes, I have. Talked to several people/tech people there 3 diff. times and they all act as if this is the first time they ever heard of it. Even went into 2 corporate stores and they were also numb to it or an answer to what was causing it. They even uninstall apps I had to see if they were the culprit. I even asked if anyone there behind the counter had a Bolt. A couple raised their hands and I asked them if it was a problem they said what problem. I asked to see their phones, so we watched simultaneously both phones with mine do it. HANG! HANG! :headscratch: "That's new".... Duh!

In San Diego it's the same issue. I am not even getting my email pushed to my phone on any regular basis. So when I'm on LTE, here's what's not working and killing my battery: Pulse, Plume, G-Voice, G-Mail, Facebook App (Sometimes), and the Androidcentral app doesn't work... that's about it. It all works with 3G.

Having the same problem in Long Beach, Lakewood, El Segundo. Basically throughout greater Los Angeles. It's intermittent, though. Sometimes 4G LTE works fine. Other times it takes minutes to load up Google.com/m, other sites, too. Switch to 3G and it loads up in 2 seconds.

Would encourage everyone with this issue to call Verizon so they know how widespread it is.

Don't go to the store to report this problem. Just dial 611.

On 6/5 I reported an issue with hotspot disconnecting and general unreliability. After a few calls saying that they are still working on the issue, I finally got a call back today from the verizon support. I was told that the issue is known and has been reported to HTC but hasn't been logged as a "known issue" to the general support network because it is still under investigation. Therefore, she encouraged me to have others with the same problem call in. She hinted that there may be a software solution in the near future but for now, the workaround is to disconnect and reconnect mobile data when the hotspot hangs.

I've already installed MR2 so I know that the reliability of the hotspot is much better. However, 4g connectivity is far from fixed. I still have very laggy web browsing especially to google websites. 3g works fine.

The more people who call in to 611 in SoCal the better...

No nothing new for me. I am wondering is this a tbolt only issue or are other phones seeing this
As well? Any charge users care to chime in?

I noticed this yesterday as well. Google's page took time to come up - kinda like needs repeated refresh.

On a 4G signal. But since 4G tends to chew battery juice, I keep mine on 3G - unless connected to the car adapter.

Maybe that splains why Sky.FM acts stupid while on 4G.

And maybe why VZW is extending the hotspot to July 6th.

4G from VZW is just not ready for prime time...

jywang is right -- the more of us who call 611 and report this (or post about), the quicker there will be a fix. Verizon and HTC need to know it could hurt their pocketbooks, then they'll do something.

Just saw this thread. I'm in Los Angeles too and Google takes ages to load. Not to mention, GPS takes even longer to lock on. I am so very frustrated.
